English Civil War

Post by Dirtbikepilot on Fri Jul 27, 2012 12:09 pm

Hey Apoxonyalipso, I have been watching Horrible Histories with the kids. Very educational, look it up.
Anyway there were a few parts of the show on the civil war in England and the monarchy being killed
and kicked out of England. Thought you might be interested in knowing the the truth is not totally
being destroyed. I will post the relevant you tube clips for you to check out. Remember these are
for kids. My kids have learned more about history than I know from this show. Very educational and fun.

Looking through some of the youtube videos came across 'To kill a king' (2002). looks like a good movie

interesting but they paint cromwell as a tyrant and the kings as great fun guys.
And dont mention the pope.
The reason christmas was banned is because its a satanic holiday and nothing to do with christianity. A tradition created under roman catholic rule , that they were escaping.
Its winter solstice. Nothing to do with jesus' birth.
And plays and sports werent popular until moveable type was invented , making bibles available to everyone. So the jesuits introduced distractions like the arts and sports. They were new then and introduced to distract us from reading the bible.
Also they dont mention the revolution of 1688. These were revolutions by the way, not civil wars.
Good to see you showing this period of history to your kids. Shame it is skewed away from the creation of soverignty for all men as their birthright.
Freedom from priests and kings.
Which was the whole point.
And they didnt create democracy. Our law is constitutional, not subject to the whims of the herd. Or the parliament. Thank god.
